Helen Ann Jepsen passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Aspire Senior Living in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at the age of 85 after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Helen was born in 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and her parents, Anne and Sylvester Kurek, preceded her in death. Helen grew up on the south side of Milwaukee and graduated from South Division High School. She proudly worked for the Milwaukee Police department and for Wisconsin Bell. She met Lonny, her husband of 55 years, in Milwaukee and then subsequently raised their two sons in Omro, Wisconsin.

Helen was an avid learner and earned her Bachelor's degree in English from UW-Oshkosh at age 59. Helen was a talented artist and used her skills to paint, draw, crochet, and knit. She generously shared her creations and artwork with family and friends. She was passionate about her flower and vegetable gardens and was a talented preserver of fruits and vegetables. Helen devoured books and usually had two or three books going at a time. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Omro where she served as an Elder. She was active in bible studies for decades, taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. She loved her time volunteering at Bella Medical Clinic working with young mothers.

Helen proudly wore the names Mom, Grandma and Gigi. She is survived by her husband (Lonny) and her children, John (Maureen) and Gerrit (Sona). She was also a loving grandmother to Ellen (Corey), Annie (Dan), Hannah, Emma and William, and Gigi to her great grandchildren, Rowan, Harper and Jason. Helen loved her sisters, and their families were precious to her. She was preceded in death by MaryEllen (Ken) and is survived by Cathie (Harvey) and Margaret (Ed) and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Omro on Monday, July 17 at 11am. Visitation with family will be held from 9:30am onwards until the start of service. Donations can be made in Helen's honor to the First Presbyterian Church, Omro, WI or Bella Medical Clinic, Oshkosh, WI.
