Helen Ruth Kunde, age 75, of Oshkosh, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Aurora Medical Center. Born on February 26, 1936, in Oshkosh, to Harvey and Florence (Cartwright) Kunde, Helen was a life-long Oshkosh resident and member of Peace Lutheran Church.
For 10 years Helen was employed at Oshkosh Trunk and Luggage, two years at SNC, 10 years at Standard Kollsman, and 27 years at UW-Oshkosh Food Services until her retirement. She enjoyed time spent with her sisters, brother, and other family members. Helen liked to relax playing bingo and cards at the Briarwood Club House.
Left to mourn her passing is a brother, Gilbert Kunde; three sisters, Virginia Wing, Charlotte (Pastor Julius) Manteufel, and Mary Jane (Delvin) Orth; a sister-in-law, Barbara Kunde; an aunt, Erna Cartwright; two special nephews, Harvey Manteufel and Nick Holzer; many other nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Arlette Schmude. Preceding Helen in death is her father on October 30, 1978; her mother on May 22, 2000; and a brother, Richard F. Kunde on February 2, 1992.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Timothy Greenwald officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery will follow the services. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral chapel.
