Henrietta "Honey" Bush, age 95, of Oshkosh, passed away on September 18, 2018, at Evergreen Manor in Oshkosh, where she had been a resident for the past five years. Honey was born in Clintonville, Wisconsin, December 23, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Frances (Schoenheide) Creapo. On August 10, 1940, Honey married Walter T. Bush at Grace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, and he preceded her in death in February 1989.
Honey is survived by her sons, Walter W. (Hope) Bush and Daniel L. (Cheryl) Bush, both of Oshkosh; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her brother, Glenn Creapo; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Sandra M. Bush; her parents; four sisters, Billy Justus, Jackie Luehrs, Blanche Holtz, and Lois Calkins; one brother, Ralph Creapo; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Bumgarner and Florence Bush; and a brother-in-law, William Bush.
Honey was raised in the amusement business and throughout her life she worked as a waitress at some of Oshkosh's upscale restaurants including the Athearn and Raulf Hotels. She later owned and operated the Honey Bee Tavern for many years. She also opened a pizza restaurant adjoining the tavern; her pizzas were enjoyed greatly by her patrons. In her free time, she thoroughly enjoyed quilting for family and friends as well as cooking and baking her famous baked beans and specialty desserts that were enjoyed by many people.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 12 Noon, in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Pastor John Dorn officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon at the funeral chapel.
