Henry E. "Wimp" Lautenschlager, age 89 of Oshkosh, died at Bethel Home on Friday, August 31, 2007. He was born in Oshkosh to Henry and Anna (Diehl) Lautenschlager on April 1, 1918. On January 18, 1946 he married Eleanor Ann Raddatz. In January of 1996 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. After 59 years together Eleanor died on June 27, 2005.

Hank was a member of Emmanuel united Church of Christ and is a former church council member. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and card player; a member of the Utica Senior Golf League and American Legion Post #70. Hank worked at Mercy Medical Center for 20 years prior to his retirement on May 1, 1982. During WWII he served as Staff Sergeant with the 2138th Army Air Force Base Unit and saw action in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.

Hank is survived by a daughter, Faye (Craig) Adams of North Glenn, Colorado; a son, Bruce (Nadene) Lautenschlager of Auburndale; grandchildren: David Lautenschlager, Carol Witz, Susan Halida, and Reggie Adams; great-grandchildren: Caitlyn and Sara Halida. He is further survived by his brother, Jerome Lautenschlager; sister, Rose Horton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to Hank's wife, a daughter, Linda Jean Lautenschlager and a sister, Lorraine Langlitz preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Hank will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1306 Michigan Street, with Reverend R. David Gaskill officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation and support to be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to Emmanuel United Church of Christ or Bethel Home. Condolences may also be shared online at www.seefeldfuneral.com
