Ione M. (Ziebell) Peterson, age 86, of Oshkosh, died on Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at Pleasant Acres, Winnebago, Wisconsin. Ione was born on December 20, 1917, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Alfred and Katherine (Pfaffenroth) Ziebell. She was married to William E. Peterson on August 12, 1937, in Oshkosh. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Christ Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. For many years she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh before transferring her membership back to Christ Lutheran Church.
Ione is survived by one son, the Reverend Terry L. (Linda) Peterson, of McFarland, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Andrew (Kristin) Peterson, of Amherst, Wisconsin, Amy (Mark) Wimmer, of Madison, Wisconsin, and Eric Peterson of Lawrence, Kansas, and two great granddaughters, Kathryn and Grace Peterson, of Amherst. She is further survived by one niece and two nephews. Ione was preceded in death by her husband William and brother Donald Ziebell.
Family funeral services were held on Friday, April 16, 2004, at Christ Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, with the Reverend Thomas McFarland officiating. Burial was in Lake View Memorial Park.
