Irna Kromm, age 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 25, 2023, at Bethel Home. She was born on November 8, 1928, at the family farm near Embarrass, Wisconsin. She was a daughter of Leonard and Elsie (Harke) Gehrt in a family of 12 children. She met her belovable husband, Peter Kromm, through her brother. Pete and Irna had a blessed life together, settling in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. To all who knew her, Irna had a sense of humor, a bit of spitfire, and a loving heart.

Irna was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Kromm; her parents, Leonard and Elsie Gehrt; her parents-in-law, Peter and Elizabeth Kromm; brother, Kenneth and sister-in-law, Verdell Gehrt, brother Donald and sister-in-law Dorothy Gehrt; sister, Edith (Toots) and brother-in-law, John Liebzeit; and sister-in-law, Shirley Gehrt. Brother, Benjamin and sister, Shirley who died as child and infant.

Survived by her brothers and sisters-in-laws: Herman Gehrt, Edward (JoAnne) Gehrt, Roger (Delores) Gehrt, Charles (Marge) Gehrt, Dennis (Carol) Gehrt, and Gary (Sallee) Gehrt, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Irna has been a resident of Bethel Home, Oshkosh, for many years. We want to thank the Bethel staff and the hospice nurses for their care and kindness. She brought smiles, songs, and stories to the staff.

Funeral at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 Sawyer Street, Oshkosh, WI. Friday, June 30. Visitation 10:00-11:00. Service 11:00. Private burial to be held at a later date.
