Obituary

Ivor H. "Murph" Owens, age 85, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on April 8, 1919 in Town of Nekimi, a son of the late Owen William and Edith (Miller) Owens. He married Lorraine Mueller on June 3, 1944 she preceded him in death on December 2, 1977. He married the former June Marion Horner-Kozel on April 25, 1981. He had worked for the Universal Foundry for over 30 years. Ivor had a great love of horses and Welsh heritage and music. He had never missed a Gymanfa Ganu at Peniel Church. He also played numerous instruments including the organ and accordion.
Ivor is survived by his wife, June of Oshkosh; two daughters, Debra (Roger) Bloechl and Diane (Verlyn) Lemke both of Oshkosh; three sons, Owen (Lynn) of Oshkosh, Wayne (Bonnie) of Pickett and Gregg (Judy) of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, other relatives and numerous dear friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; a sister, Jane Kohnke; mother and father in law, Elsie and William Mueller; and a grandson, Baby Boy Bloechl.
Funeral services will be held for Ivor on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 12:00 noon at Plymouth Congregational Church, corner of South Park Avenue and Georgia Street, Oshkosh with the Reverend Rick Hopkins officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Zoar Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established in his name for Plymouth Congregational Church.
