James F. Bahr, of Oshkosh, age 85, passed away at Bethel Home in Oshkosh on Friday, October 10, 2014. He was born in Oshkosh on July 8, 1929 the son of the late Carl and Esther (Marth) Bahr. On July 2, 1949 he married Dolores Clark. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2013. Jim worked for Wisconsin Bell as a lineman, retiring after 35 years. His interests included tinkering, woodworking, rock collecting, and nature, particularly eagle watching. He loved his community and served as Winnebago County Board Supervisor, and was instrumental in developing Planting a Seed and Kornerstone Recovery Club, both helping those with addictions. He was also active in First English Lutheran Church and the church Boy Scout Troop.
Survivors include his children: Terrie Westenberger, Stephanie (John) Gregory, Brian Bahr, Candace Bahr, Tanya (Darryl) Hielke, Robin (John) Elmer, and James C. Bahr; grandchildren, Troy (Jennifer) Westenberger, Todd Westenberger, Tyler (Madeline) Westenberger, Tiffany (Jimmy) Hayes, Christi (Jim) Forbes, Sean Gregory, Christina Ashley Bahr, Colleen (Scott) Footit, Benjamin Baier, Caitlin Baier, Deanna Deising, Dylan Hielke, Madeline Bahr, Noah Elmer, Michael J. Bahr; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Tom Qualley; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores; parents; son, Greg; and sisters: Shirley Adams and Carolyn Qualley.
The family will be conducting a visitation at 5:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. with a reception to follow on Thursday, October 16, 2014, at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1013 Minnesota St., Oshkosh, with Rev.
