James Damerow, age 63, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, December 9, 2005 at his home. He was born on September 18, 1942 in Oshkosh to Lester and Alice (Wilke) Damerow. Jim was employed by the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office as a patrol officer from 1968 until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Chapter. Fishing and hunting were favorite pastimes of Jim's. He served with the U.S. Air Force in Japan during the early 1960's.
Survivors include one sister: Bonnie (Gerald) Bochinski of Oshkosh; three brothers: Charles (Jill) Damerow of Bakersfield, California; Donald (Sharon) Hannaman of Gukeen, Minnesota; and Gordon (Gen) Hannaman of Melrose, Minnesota; a daughter: Tina (Jon) Kruger of Oshkosh; two grandsons: David and Brandon; nieces and nephews: Jerrod (Jodie) Bochinski of Racine; Jayson Bochinski of Van Dyne; Daniel (Renee') Damerow of Los Angeles, California; Deborah(Joe) Joles of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and other nieces and nephews. Preceding Jim in death are his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Police Chaplain Terry Banker officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. The family is establishing a memorial in Jim's memory.
