James E. Ginnow, age 71, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday afternoon, June 2, 2004 at his home. He was born on September 24, 1932 in Omro to John and Mae (Robbins) Ginnow. Jim married Marilyn Precour on July 25, 1953 in Oshkosh.
Jim graduated from Oshkosh High School and was active in the U.S. Naval Reserves for 6 years. He was employed in the construction supply and heavy equipment sales for 30 years prior to forming Ginnow Equipment and Specialty Company in 1986, where he enjoyed many close and personal business contacts. Jim enjoyed going on cruises with Marilyn and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included hunting, boating, and camping with family and friends. Jim was a warm and generous person to those near and dear to him.
Survivors include his wife: Marilyn Ginnow of Oshkosh; one daughter: Stacey (James) Schiek of Oshkosh; two sons: Robert (Karen) Ginnow of Ashwaubenon and Jay (Rita) Ginnow of Torrance, California; eleven grandchildren: Jim Schiek Jr., Anna Schiek, Brittany Schiek, Abigail Schiek, Wesley Schiek, Abraham Schiek, Ava Schiek, Beth Ginnow, Mark Ginnow, Alexandra Ginnow, and Christopher Ginnow. Preceding Jim in death are his parents, a brother: Milbourn Ginnow, and a sister: Carol Jean Ginnow.
Memorial funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Lake View Memorial Chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd. Family and friends may call at the chapel from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
