James A. "Jim" Langlitz, age 63, of Oshkosh, died Saturday morning, May 14, 2005 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on November 2, 1941 in Oshkosh to Emil and Ferne (Wilson) Langlitz. Jim married Kay Ziegenhagen on July 15, 1961 in Oshkosh.
Jim was employed by Rockwell International as a machinist until his retirement in December of 1989. He was a 1960 graduate of Oshkosh High School. Jim was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking, watching NASCAR events, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. Jim was a member of Rockwell Golf League and later was a member of Rockwell Retiree Golf Club. During quiet times Jim enjoyed the company of his beloved Black Lab, Trixy.
Survivors include his wife: Kay Langlitz of Oshkosh; three daughters: Patti Paul (fiance David Adams) of Janesville; Lisa (Larry) Lipke of Marathon; Lori (Jon) Mortensen of Oshkosh; two sons: Jeffrey (Victoria) Langlitz of Oshkosh; James D. Langlitz of Oshkosh; his mother: Ferne Langlitz of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren: Kyle and Kelsey Paul, Joey and Jessica Lipke, Nicole and Michael Mortensen, and Eric Langlitz; one sister: Cindy Langlitz of Oshkosh. Preceding Jim in death is his father.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Ralph Hanusa officiating. Interment will follow services at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and support will be held at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A memorial being established in Jim's memory by his family.
A special thank you to Doctors Govindaraju Subramani, Rao Prasad, Stephen Maassen, and the nursing staff in ICU at Aurora Medical Center for the care and concern given to Jim during his stay.
