James M. Mongan, age 56, of Oshkosh, died Saturday afternoon, October 24, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center. Born on May 5, 1959, in Oshkosh, the son of Hugh and Loretta (Koeppen) Mongan Sr., Jim married Alyce McRae.
An auto body specialist, Jim owned and operated Brook's Auto Body Shop. He enjoyed restoring old cars, riding motorcycles, and music of all kinds.
Survivors include his wife, Alyce Mongan of Oshkosh; a daughter, Brooke Mongan and her mother, Stacy Voss, both of Oshkosh; his siblings, Gerald (Dorothy) Mongan of Colorado, Cindy (John) Lines of Oshkosh, Rodney Mongan of Oshkosh, and Heather (Jim) Procknow of Verona, Wisconsin; two step-daughters, Rebecca (friend, Todd) Nichols of Oshkosh and Andrea (friend, Tara) McRae of Green Bay; step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Preceding Jim in death are his parents, a brother, Hugh Mongan Jr., and a sister, Julia Ann Mongan. Jim will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. Interment will follow the services at St. Thomas Cemetery in the Township of Poygan. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
