James F. "Jim" Schmutzer, age 81, of Oshkosh, died Friday evening, September 27, 2013, at his home. Born on August 10, 1932, in Berlin, Wisconsin, the son of Edward and Hattie (Widzinski) Schmutzer, Jim was employed as a shipping clerk at Oshkosh B 'Gosh until ill health caused him to retire. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jim enjoyed time spent bowling, fishing, and playing/watching baseball. Survivors include a brother, Ronald Schmutzer of Oshkosh, a sister-in-law, Ferne Schmutzer of Oshkosh, and three cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edward Jr. and Douglas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapel, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend William Van De Kreeke officiating. Interment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
