James Robert Thoma, age 77 of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 24, 2009. He was born December 16, 1931, the son of Louis and Willabelle (Jeskey) Thoma. Jim married the love of his life Grace A. Lorbiecki and she preceded him in death on August 19, 2008. He loved football, both playing and watching; he was an all-state lineman in high school and also enjoyed watching the Packers.
Jim will forever be remembered by his nephews, Steven (Lynnette) Thoma, Darrell (Judy) Thoma, Steven Rhyner; his nieces, Catherine (Jamie) Zahalka, Stefanie Lorbiecki, Kristine Lorbiecki, Anne (Jeff) Gruett, Natalie Neals, Nikki Neals; sisters-in-law, Teri (Rick) Neals and Audrey Rhyner; cousins Loretta (Sid) Miller and Lorraine (Dick) Eiden. He is further survived by Aunt Ruth and many special great nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
In accordance with Jim's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Following cremation, his cremains will be joined with his wife's and scattered over AuTrain Bay of Lake Superior to drift amidst the beauty of the area.
