James M. Welton, age 67, of Oshkosh, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 8, 2005. He was born on September 3, 1937 in Oshkosh. Jim served his country in the US Air Force and then worked for Mercury Marine for over 20 years, then Oshkosh Truck Corporation and then Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton. He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing and was active in POW groups and activities along with restoring old cars.
He is survived by a son, Randy Welton of Oshkosh. He was preceded in death by adoptive parents, Merten and Theresa Welton; his mother, Lucille Rhynert and a son, Gregory David Welton in August of 1999.
A memorial service for Jim will be held on Monday, June 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street with Fr. William Van De Kreeke officiating. There will be no visitation, family and friends are asked to gather at the funeral chapel at 2:00 p.m. for the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established .
