Jane Scheuermann, age 80, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2003, at her home in Oshkosh. She was born on May 23, 1923 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Paffenroth) Weigandt. She and Edwin Scheuermann joined together in holy matrimony on May 16, 1944 in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Along with her husband Ed, she was a member of the American Society of Germans from Russia International and active with the local chapter. As a waitress for over 50 years, Jane enjoyed the people she served at various restaurants about town. She was an active member of All Saints Lutheran Church and had been a Stephen s Minister for Zion Lutheran Church. Family gatherings were a time of joy for her. She was an active participant with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they grew up.
Her memory will live on through her husband of 59 years, Edwin Paul Scheuermann; sons, Steven Paul (Karen) Scheuermann of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Gary Edwin (Nancy) Scheuermann of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters, Ruth Esslinger and Dorothy (Norman) Jordan both of Oshkosh; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Services for Jane will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 6th, at All Saints Lutheran Church, 1072 Honey Creek Road. The Reverends Joy Mortensen-Wiebe and Darin Wiebe will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the church on Sunday from 4-7:00 PM and continue visitation at the church on Monday beginning at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be given to All Saints Lutheran Church or to Aurora Hospice.
