Janet M. Streich, age 84, of Oshkosh, died Thursday evening, March 13, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center. Born on October 3, 1929, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Jesse and Alice (Ganzel) Winter, Sr., Janet married Walter Streich on July 3, 1948 in Oshkosh. Walter preceded Janet in death on March 2, 2008.
Employed by Winnebago State Mental Health for 26 years, Janet was a member of the DAV Auxiliary and Bethel Auxiliary. She loved the time spent with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Maureen) Streich, Sandra (Dennis) Holloway, Jackie Schoening, Jill (Edward) Bowe, and Timmy (Laura) Streich; ten grandchildren, Tina, Chad, Adam, Stacy, Emily, Abbey, Brittany, Andrea, Joseph, and Molly; five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob, Justin, Hunter, Adessa, and two more great-grandchildren expected; two great-great-grandchildren, Easton and Jayce; a brother, Donald (Suzanne) Winter; and a sister, Joyce Schroeder.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Monday from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral chapel. Janet will be laid to rest next to Walter at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
