Jean M. Emnott, age 92, of Oshkosh, passed on Monday morning, March 5th, at Bella Vista Manor. She was born in Janesville on July 7, 1925, the daughter of Elmer and Paula (Nobiensky) Sweet. Jean graduated from Oshkosh High School and later attended a beauty school. She married William (Bill) Emnott on April 7, 1951, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and enjoyed over 66 years of marriage. She worked in cosmetology and other jobs, finally retiring from Blue Cross/Blue Shield. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and part of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed the outdoors with Bill, taking many trips to the Eagle River area and sitting out on the patio. Always having a book nearby, she was an avid reader. Being close to God, she frequently studied the Bible and served as a Deaconess at Plymouth Church. She shared a love of aviation with her husband, both being regular volunteers for over 10 years at the local EAA Air Show. Both enjoyed Friday Fish Fries together at Wendt's on the Lake in Van Dyne.
Jean is survived by her sister, June Zuehlke. They were blessed with two children, Mark (Tanya) Emnott and Susan Barth. Jean is further survived by three grandchildren through Mark, Kathrine, Jessica, and Angela Emnott; with three more through Susan, Jason (Kristy) Hart, Greg Barth, and Natalie (Brandon) Green. In addition, she was blessed with great-grandchildren through Jason being William, Joshua, Samuel; and through Natalie being Daniel, Buck, Mark, Jade, and Colt.
Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Emnott, and her parents, as well as her brother, Richard Sweet; brother-in-law, Jack Emnott; and sisters-in-law, Marie Hoger and Olive Miller.
Funeral services will be for close friends and family on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon Street. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 12 Noon until service time. Burial services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Lake View Memorial Park.
