Jeanette A. Calkins, age 74, of Oshkosh, died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on August 23, 2014. Jeanette was born February 15, 1940, in Portage, WI, the daughter of James and Mildred Bell. She married Fred Calkins on November 14, 1986. Together they enjoyed years of camping at their trailer in Wild Rose.
Jeanette is loved and will be missed by her children, Vicki (Dan) Margolis, Rick (Lisa) Searl, Tamitha Schwandt, Randy Searl and Tina (Dave) Lewellyn; sister, Sharon (Harrill) Barber of Valparaiso, FL.; grandchildren, Jeremy (Sheena) Berndt, Christy (Mark) Zehner, Cassie Schultz, Ricky Searl, II, Billy Jo Searl, Nick (Nicole) Schwandt, Mike (Amanda) Schwandt, Justen (Kristen) Stracy, Tim (Tonnie) Lewellyn and Tanya Lewellyn; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mildred Bell; adopted parents, Erwin and Dora Loeffler; husband, Fred Calkins; infant son, Rusty Searl; grandson, Calvin Searl; brothers and sisters, Betty Seidal, Lula Fandrich, Lola May Wyman, Jerry Bell, James Bell, John Bell and Ruthie Anacker.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Jeanette will be laid to rest with her husband, Fred Calkins at Lake View Memorial Park at a later date.
The family would like to thank her RN, Laura and her CNA, Jeane from ThedaCare at Home Hospice for loving and caring for Jeanette so long and for being there for the entire family during this hard time.
