Joan C. VanDensen, age 81, of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. She was born in Oshkosh on December 19, 1934 the daughter of the late Orville and Josephine (Stadler) Hiltz. On April 24, 1954 she married Richard "Dick" VanDensen at St. Peters in Oshkosh. Joan worked for Miles Kimball for 40 years as an engraver. She enjoyed playing cards, and crafts, especially crocheting. Joan will be remembered for her kindness, love of singing, and for making those around her happy.
Joan is survived by her children: Diane VanDensen, Charles (Jane) VanDensen, Rick VanDensen, all of Oshkosh, and Amy (David) Moore of Almond; grandchildren: Kristina Mosley, Melissa (Scott) Hermes, Sandra (Chad) Flock, Lydia (Brent) Comstock, Timothy (Starlite) Carpenter, Tom (Jaclyn) Carpenter, Teresa (James) Daw, Mikayla Moore, Breanna Moore and Melody Moore; great-grandchildren: Thomas Carpenter, Isaiah Carpenter, Justus Carpenter, Zander Carpenter, Xavier Carpenter, Cailie Carpenter, Zack Daw, Eli Daw, Zoe Daw, Robert Mosley, Kelly Mosley, Danyelle Flock, Arianna Flock, Ethan Flock, Andrew Comstock and Amaya Comstock; sisters: Pat Ebel and Mary Hiltz; brother, John Hiltz; son-in-law, Steve Carpenter; sister-in-law, Bernice VanDensen; and brother-in-law: Donald Treichel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents; daughter, Debra Carpenter; an infant sister, Nancy; grandson-in-law, Arthur Mosley; brothers-in-law, Gregory Ebel and Robert VanDensen; sister-in-law, Patricia Hiltz.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT PARISH, ST. PETER'S SITE, 435 High Ave., Oshkosh, with Fr. James Jugenheimer officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Memorials in Joan's name will be given to Joan's favorite charities.
