Jodie R. Clark Schoonover, age 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 18, 2024, in Waukau, Wisconsin. She was born to parents Harold and Janet (Johnson) Clark on March 5, 1958, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Jodie graduated from Oshkosh North High School in 1976.
After high school, she went on to achieve a bachelor's degree in art education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and later earned a master's degree in teacher development. She married the love of her life, Gerald Schoonover on March 26, 1983, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Together, they raised two children.
Jodie taught art for the Oshkosh School District for 25 years. She was passionate about teaching, served on various committees, and never turned down an opportunity to substitute teach after retirement. She used her artistic talents for many community projects throughout the years.
Jodie saw the best in every person and living creature she came into contact with. Her kindness, selflessness, humor, and caring heart was felt by everyone around her. She loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren, and spent most of her days outside working on various projects, especially on the family farm. She enjoyed horseback riding, scuba diving, skiing, reading, perfecting her rock garden, and loved visiting the ocean. Jodie was also known to rescue animals of all types. She will be remembered for being creative, handy, and willing to help anyone in need.
Jodie is survived by her husband, Gerald Schoonover; children, Kyle (Stephanie) Schoonover and Kassondra (Eric) Korth; grandsons, Lane, Garrett, Corbin, Gavin and Trevor; sister, Stephanie (Barry) Rueckert; sisters-in-law, Sue (Phil) Kratz, Vicki Behm, and Tammy Clark; brothers-in-law, James Schoonover, Michael Schoonover, Pat (Connie) Schoonover and John (Debora) Schoonover. She is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and former students.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Harold and Janet (Johnson) Clark; father and mother in-law William and Hazel (Flanagan) Schoonover; brother, Jeffrey Clark; sister-in-law, Betty Schoonover and several other extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at St. John's Evangelical Church, 808 N. Main St., Oshkosh, Wisconsin, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with service to immediately follow. Her final resting place will be at the Waukau Cemetery.

While her loving husband was by her side faithfully, her family would like to extend a thank you for the additional love and support from extended family and friends throughout Jodie's final journey.
