John Daniel Hussey, age 81, of Oshkosh passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 surrounded by his family at home. He was born September 24, 1929 the son of Leo and Ann (Farr) Hussey in Bayonne, New Jersey. John married Juanita Lamb on January 12, 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada and she preceded him in death.
After graduating from high school John joined the merchant marines and proudly served our country. Following his time in the service, he lived and worked in Alaska on the pipeline from its construction to operation. After his retirement he moved to Shelton, Washington where he loved playing Santa every year for the children and in his free time he enjoyed playing the horses.
Those who are left to forever remember John include his daughters, Kristen Hewett, Kathy Hinton, Donna Gordaoff; son, Jeff Hussey; sisters, Peggy Gallagher, Anne Foley; grandchildren, Tony Stack, Tiffany Tortolani, Mary Duffek, Sabrina (Christopher) Jansen; great-grandchildren, Nikolina Stack, Sofiya Stack, Ashlee Stack, Duane Tortolani, Tres Palacios, Jordan Stack-Hinton, Jeremy Duffek, Samuel Duffek, Ahnika Jansen, Jason Jansen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Robert Hussey; granddaughter, Ashley Hussey; grandson, Scott Hussey.
Memorial service for John will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Brookside Clubhouse, 667 N. Westfield Street.
