John M. Preston, age 92, died Friday evening, August 21, 2015 at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma, WI. Pearson, Wisconsin was his birthplace on April 1, 1923, the first son of Chester and Lily (Strandberg) Preston. He married Judith Reed in 1959. They divorced in 1981. He was married to Dorothy Wolfgram from Eagle River, WI until her death in 1994. He married Dolores Yanke on October 7, 1995.
He was a "Jack"---of---all---trades, but especially worked as a carpenter for many decades. Working side by side with his spiritual brothers and sisters building places for worship was a highlight of his life. Sharing the goods news of God's word in the ministry work was a priority for him. He enjoyed playing various instruments, gardening, the creation around him, family and many friends including the Eagle River Congregation of Jehovah' Witnesses and Wautoma

John is survived by his wife, Dolores Preston, Wautoma; a brother, Donald (Edna) Preston, West Bend, WI; a daughter, Sarah (Jeffery) Krahn, Wautoma; a son, Joseph (Wendy) Preston, Marshfield, WI; a son, Daniel Preston, Deerfield, WI; a nephew, Tom (Louise) Preston, Camarillo, CA; a niece, Vicki (Joe) Shanovich, West Bend, WI; a niece, Julie (Edwin) Cabal, a niece, Deborah Aderholdt-Wood, Merrill; a nephew, Jeff (LaDawn) Aderholdt, Woodruff; a niece, Danielle (Mike) Hakala, Tomahawk; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Wautoma Kingdom Hall of Jehovah' Witnnesses, N2287 17th Drive, Wautoma, WI 54982 at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff and compassionate CNA's of Silver Lake Manor for their care for John during his stay there. Also, much appreciated was the tender consideration for him and the family during the final weeks of his life. Our thanks also to Agnesian Hospice Hope for the care, comfort and support given.
