John J. Schroeder, age 57, of Oshkosh, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. He was born December 9, 1956, in Oshkosh, the son of Henry and Shirley (Koeck) Schroeder. John was a loving and caring person who loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He had many passions in life. His family and friends will remember how he loved the outdoors. He spent hours, sturgeon spearing, fishing and hunting. He loved to tell stories about the 200 deer he harvested through the years. John was an amazing writer, as well as a jokester. He enjoyed gardening, singing, woodworking, and smoking the fish he caught. His dogs Tasha, Max and Lucky, brought John much enjoyment throughout his life.
John is loved and will be missed by his wife, Betty; children, Steven (Jennifer), Jason (Shannon), Jennifer (Ezra) Will, Matthew (Stephanie), Brittany (Justin) Yanke, Mary Jo, Heather; grandchildren, Jerred Friday, Kalen, Jordan, and Calie Schroeder; future grandsons, Connor Yanke and Guy Schroeder; father, Henry Schroeder; brothers and sisters, Linda (Paul) Anderson, Pete (Mary) Schroeder, Pam (Don) Spanbauer, Jim (Kim) Schroeder; cousin, Eric Schroeder; mother in law, Margaret Grundy; nieces, nephews and his best friend, Fred Lowther and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Mae Schroeder; brother, Mark; sister, Mary and father in law, Mark Grundy.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake View Memorial Park, with a short visitation graveside, to be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. (Please meet at cemetery.)
