Obituary

John F. Weiner, age 87, of Berlin, formerly of Omro, died peacefully Sunday evening, June 15, 2008, after a short illness at Juliette Manor in Berlin. He was born in Duluth, MN on September 4, 1920, the son of John and Minnie (Fieblekorn) Weiner. John had attended Berlin High School and served in the US Army overseas on a European tour during WW II. John married Nedra M. Davey in Oshkosh on February 18, 1942. She preceded him in death on April 9, 1991. During his working years, he had worked at Spangler Bakery, Waite Carpet and retired from Rockwell International. John was a member of The United Methodist Church in Berlin, Local 291 and the Berlin Eagles.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nedra; brothers, Kenneth (Jesse) Weiner, and Ernest (Anita) Weiner; sisters, Emma Jane (Ray) Krupski, Marian (August) Schliepp and Mary (Robert) Rasmussen. John is lovingly survived by special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at The United Methodist Church, 178 W. Cumberland, Berlin, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Robert Blackburn officiating. John will be laid to rest next to his wife at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in his name is being established.
