John Duane Wortman, age 85, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022. He was born in Penn Yan, NY on December 14, 1936, the son of the late John G. and Myrtle (Trimble) Wortman. On February 6, 1956 he married Joan Vandermolen at the Bainbridge Naval Training Center, Maryland. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2018. John was proud to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1954 until 1962 as a corpsman. He retired from the Postal Service in 1992 after many years of service. John enjoyed the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, bowling and golf. He will be remembered for the love and loyalty he had for his family and friends.

John is survived by his sons: Mark Wortman and David (Cindy) Wortman; grandchildren: Amy (Daniel) DeKeyser, Hannah Wortman, Jon Wortman and Paula (Matt) Rady; great-granddaughters: Sienna and Scarlett Rady; and sisters-in-law: Ellen Vandermolen and Susan Wortman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; his parents; and brother, Gary Wortman.

A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Seefeld Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park with military honors. Online condolences may be expressed at www.seefeldfuneral .com.
