Jon C. "The Chief" Genal, age 47, of Oshkosh, passed away at home after battling cancer on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. He was born in New Holstein on July 13, 1968 the son of Carl and Diane (Westenberger) Genal. Jon was a sales representative for J.J. Keller for 22 years. He was known for his love of music and concerts, and fishing on Lake Winnebago. His son, Zachary, was very important to him and Jon enjoyed being a part of his sporting events and life. Jon will be remembered for his smile and crazy laugh.
Jon is survived by his son, Zachary; mother, Diane Genal; brother, Joey Genal; and his awesome fishing buddies and special friends from work. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl.
The memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Seefeld Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Catholic Section, Oshkosh.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Affinity Hospice for their special care. Further, thank you to Ginny, Jon's fishing buddies, and many good friends and neighbors for the care and support they shared.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Jon's name is being established.
