Obituary

Joseph D. Hough, age 91, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, February 18, 2005 at Oshkosh Medical & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 13, 1913 in Larsen, Wisconsin to Ira and Ada (Babcock) Hough. Joe married Marion E. McCallan on July 23, 1942 in Oklahoma.
Joe was employed in the marketing & sales departments of Wisconsin Public Service and later at Wisconsin State Petroleum Association in Madison before retiring in 1967. He was a member of First Congregational Church, where he held various offices, Oshkosh Kiwanis Club, Civic Music Board of Directors, Board Member of Campfire Girls, and several other civic activities. Joe enjoyed music and golf in his leisure time. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of the European Theatre during WWII.
Survivors include his wife: Marion of Oshkosh: two daughters: Susan Block of Boise, Idaho; Betsy (Paul) von Kuster of Edina, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Corinne Block, Andrew Block, Paul von Kuster, and Brian von Kuster. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law: William Block; granddaughter: Christine Block; brother: Emerson Hough; and sister: Lois James.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 21, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, with Reverends Ralph and Carol DiBiasio-Snyder officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorail Park. There will be no visitation prior to the funeral service.
