Obituary

Joyce was born February 14, 1936 to parents Walter and Anne Krueger. In 1970 she married the love of her life, Thomas Traxler. She got three Siberian huskies; he got a family of nine. In 1971 they opened Traxler's Kennel and Pet Shop in Oshkosh.Joyce and Tom are accredited with aiding in the creation of the first K-9 Unit in Winnebago County. They were also accredited with having the first kennel to have pure white Siberian Huskies. Joyce had a heart of gold and had several accomplishments that followed her through her life. She was always involved with children and underprivileged families. She started the 4-H Cloverbuds, helped with Waukau Youth center, and volunteered yearly with Special Olympics, always with her family in tow. Joyce judged at the Winnebago County Fair, was involved in the Winnebago Fair Association, and showed, trained, and judged at dog shows. In 1990, Joyce became aware of a man training for the Iditarod, who lost his sled team in the accident. Her heart went out to the man and made the decision to donate some of her huskies to the man, who thanks to the generous donation was able to make the run with her huskies. Joyce loved her music which included; country western, 60's, 70's, and polka. She would dress her grandchildren up in 50's and 60's attire when the Outta Style Show Band was in town. Joyce's love extended beyond her family to all animals which could easily be seen by visiting her at the pet shop. No matter what animal, if it was in need, Joyce was there to love, bandage, and care for them all. Joyce had a loving family that consisted of her children Garth (Christine) Seiler of Oshkosh, Shelly Seiler of Green Bay, Sherre (Steve) Bathke of Omro, Renae (Howard) Hooper of Wild Rose, Bob (Debbie) Malchow of Omro, Thomas W. Malchow of Berlin, Jim (Kris) Malchow of Wild Rose, Robin Malchow of Minnesota; 22 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a brother , Jerry (Sue) Krueger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Anne Krueger; husband, Thomas Traxler; son, Marty Malchow and siblings, Michelle Krueger (Herring) and Jim Krueger. Joyce's love touched so many lives that one could hardly fathom all of her influences. She was a strong and loving woman that will not only be missed by her family, but by all the lives she has touched. We would like to thank Hospice, Lakeland Care District, Renae Hooper, Rita Lauer, Jill Foley, and Kala Bathke for providing care in the last bit of her life. But a very special thank you to Sherre Bathke and Garth Seiler for providing love and care for Joyce since 2007. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, December 19, 2014, at the Omro Funeral Home, from 4:00 p.m. until time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Joyce will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
