Julia "Jewel" Belson went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2014. Jewel was born and reared in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, but lived and worked in Springfield, Missouri and Schererville, Indiana, from 1973-1998; Jewel spent over 25 years as an educator and in administration after receiving her Bachelors of Arts in Religious Education, Graduate of Christian Education, and Master of Education degrees.
Jewel returned to Wisconsin in December 1998. She was a writer for Plexus Corporation and upon completion of the project, joined Affinity Health System and later, Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Jewel is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph (Gertrude) Belson (1969/1976), and her two brothers Timothy (1938), and George (1940), both prior to hers and her older brother, Tim's birth. Tim died his senior year of high school (1965). Julia is preceded in death by all nine aunts and uncles; Julia's grandparents were deceased before her birth.
A private graveside burial next to her mother will place at Ellenwood Cemetery. A Memorial Service for Jewel will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2014, at Wyldewood Baptist Church.
