June R. Maas died at her home on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. She was born to Arthur and Norma (Abraham) Darkow on June 19, 1930. On June 26, 1948 she married Clyde Maas who preceded her in death on March 5, 2000.

June was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and sang in the church choir. She was spunky, fun, and thoughtful. She was always thinking of others and went out of her way to help. She enjoyed baking, especially bread, and always made sure there was an abundance to share.

June is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Richard H. Jr.) Wertz of Westminster, Colorado, and her son, Lee Maas; Lynn's children: Sonya (Tim) Vega, Christoph (Tammy) Wertz, and Ivan Wertz; Lee's children: Megan and Michael Maas; granddaughter Sonya's children: Sophia and Stephen; grandson Christoph's children: Ashley (Chris) Roach, Christopher Wertz, and Preston Wertz; and great-granddaughter Ashley's children: Tessa and Titus Roach. She is further survived by her sister, Dawn Bekas; sisters-in-law: Marian Ziesmer, Arlene Redmann, and Lois (Joe) Roycraft; and many special friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mavis Trettin and Eugene Darkow.

Funeral services for June will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1325 Georgia Street. The Reverends, Rick Hopkins, Lynn Scovil, and Jim Stadler will officiate. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held at the church on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Condolences may also be given online at www.seefeldfuneral.com.
