June Violet Steinfort, nee Schneider, age 91, passed away peacefully with her son and daughter, Dan and Donna, at her side in the final moments of June's life, after a long battle with dementia. She was born in Oshkosh on January 13, 1931, daughter of the late Albert and Violet Schneider. June graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1949. On November 3, 1951 she married Norman Steinfort at Grace Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, where she was a member until her passing. They made their life-long home on Lake Winnebago in the Town of Oshkosh. June and Norm had four children. She worked in the office of her husband's business, Norm's Garage. She also worked for United Cerebral Palsy as a school bus driver for 26 years until her retirement in 1996. June was the caretaker for her brother, Wayne Schneider, for most of his life. She liked swimming, woodworking, sewing, gardening and making chocolate candy for the holidays. She also loved to go to the cabin in Florence County with the family.

June is survived by her children: Deborah (Tom) Wiechert, Diane (Steven) Leach, Daniel Steinfort and Donna (Raymond) Voelker; 11 grandchildren: Jared (Kim) Wiechert, Angela Page, Andrew (Stephanie) Steinfort, Jennifer Steinfort, Travis (Diane) Voelker, Danielle (Matt) Schoenrock, Laura (Phillip) Wiechert, Erica (Shawn) Voelker, Garrett Leach, Josie Steinfort and Ashley Voelker; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her her little dog, Fritz, who was always by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, on February 8, 2000; her parents; great-granddaughter, Lilly Page in 2008; brothers: Bud (Peggy) Schneider, Carl Schneider and Wayne Schneider; and sister Lorraine (Irvin) Gonia.

A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022 at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 913 Nebraska St., Oshkosh, with Rev. Chadwick Graham officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Oshkosh.
