Obituary

Kathryn Dolores Trester, age 93 of Oshkosh, died at home on September 21, 2005. She was born March 3, 1912 to William and Lottie (Schilling) Wolters. She attended Washington High School and Layton School of Fine Arts. On February 21, 1941 she married Harold C. Trester, he preceded in her in death on December 4, 1980.
Kathryn was an Active member of First Presbyterian Church; where she was elected for two terms as Ruling Elder. She was President of the Women's Service Guild, and a member of Miriam Circle. She was employed as a designer for Milwaukee Label & Seal Co. and Kirby, Kogshall, & Steinau Co. in Milwaukee. After marriage she became a watercolor artist. She was one of the original members of the Oshkosh Fine Arts Association.
Active in the community Kathryn was a member of the Oshkosh Community Players; one of the original Meals on Wheels drivers delivering meals for 11 years; Chair of the Board of Bureau of Family Services; President of Twentieth Century Club; Cub Scout Leader; Blue Bird and Camp Fire Leader; Member of Camp Fire Council; Vice Chair of Winnebago County Republican Party; President of Winnebago County Republican Women; and active in Republican election campaigns. She was also a member of many other organizations: Oshkosh Chapter of the Red Cross, AARP, Medical Assistance Program, Sierra Club, Humane Society, DELTA Animal Rescue, Love and Care for God's Animal Life, World Wild Life Fund, African Wild Life Foundation, and Friends of the Oshkosh Animal Shelter. She loved cats and all animals. She also traveled extensively throughout the United States and many foreign countries.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Diana May Martin of Oshkosh and Harold Donald Trester of Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held for Kathryn at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 29, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church, 110 Church Avenue, Reverend Tom Willadsen officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Thursday from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: First Presbyterian Church of Oshkosh of the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Vicky, Dianne, Lucille, Jeanne, Judy, Rhonda, and Laura who cared for Mom during her illness. Bless you all.
