Kathryn "Kay" J. Lamson died peacefully on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at Aurora Medical Center with her family by her side. Born Kathryn "Kay" J. Drought on November 14, 1920 to Edward and Emma (Biermeier) Drought in Cutler, Wisconsin. She graduated from New Lisbon High School. She married Warren C. Lamson in 1938; he preceded her in death in 1967.
Kay lived in New Lisbon through 1959 where she and her husband owned and operated a furniture store and LP gas business. They moved to Oshkosh in 1959 and worked with LP gas in many different facets from the 1940's through her retirement in 1994. She also worked as a sales representative for Master Tank and Welding and for American Tank and Welding from 1967 until her retirement. She truly enjoyed working with all of her friends in the LP gas industry.
Kay was secretary and treasurer for Wisconsin LP Gas Association for many years up until the time of her retirement. She was also a member of the Ancient Gassers Club, and many years ago she was a President of Big Brothers Big Sisters Fox Valley Region.
Her children, Ann Bowen and Edward Lamson, both of Oshkosh, survive Kay. Grandchildren, Cathy Bowen, Linda Tarbert, and Donald Jr. (Cindy) Lamson and great-grandchildren, Kelsey Tarbert, and Audrey and Hunter Lamson further survive Kay. Preceding Kay in death are her husband, parents, two sons: Donald and Paul Lamson, and one sister: Marvel Drought.
Kay enjoyed her family and many friends. Throughout her life she loved gardening and flowers, was an avid reader, played bridge, enjoyed bird watching and bowling. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services for Kay will be held at Seefeld Funeral and Cremation Services Oregon Street Chapel, 1025 Oregon Street, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 11, 2005, with Reverend Ralph Hanusa officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Seefeld Oregon Street Chapel Monday, January 10th, from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Kay's family would like to especially thank the Oshkosh Paramedics, and the ER and ICU Staff at Aurora Medical Center for their care.
