Kenneth "Dobber" Beck, age 76, of Omro, died unexpectedly Friday evening, May 7, 2010 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born October 21, 1933 in Omro, the son of Orvis and Frances (Harris) Beck. Dobber was educated in the Omro Schools, was a graduate of Omro High School, and later served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957. He married Joan (Toshner) on September 12, 1964, at St. John's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Dobber had worked as a plumber at Rockwell International for 25 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, especially duck hunting, fishing, trapping and trap shooting.
Dobber is loved and is survived by his wife, Joan of Omro; daughter, Tracy (Vince) Galione of Winneconne; sister, Peggy Spanbauer; sister-in-law, Beverly Beck; father-in-law, Joseph Toshner; brother-in-law, James (Bonnie) Toshner; nieces, nephews, cousins, Posey, Susey and Joey; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerome O. Beck; aunt, Gladys Beck; mother-in-law, Hannah Toshner and brother-in-law, Ted Spanbauer.
In respect to Dobber's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until the time of a short memorial service at 7:00 P.M. with Sr. Pam Biehl officiating.
