Kenneth C. Bloede, age 73, of Omro, died early Sunday morning, January 20, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Berlin on February 3, 1939, the son of Clarence and Onieda (Lehman) Bloede. Ken married Dorothy Hertzberg on June 1, 1957. He had worked at Universal Foundry and Garvins Brothers Bus Company in Omro. Ken had a passion for classy cars and always looked forward to taking trips to Hayward in his G6 Convertible. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed deer hunting, turkey hunting and snowmobiling. Music was a favorite past time of Ken's. He operated the sound system at church, loved music and enjoyed his extensive country and western record collection.
Ken is loved and will be missed by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Randy of Poygan, Larry of Poy Sippi and Michael (Deanna) of the Town of Rushford; grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla, Steven, Christopher, Jacob "Jake", Courtney "Bean" and Zachary "Zip". He is further survived by his sister, Sheila Piotter and her friend, John Ammeter; in laws, Don (Linda) Hertzberg and Charmaine (Marvin) Litton; other relatives and friends.
In respect to Ken's memory, the family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then again on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Ave., Omro, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow in the Burdick Cemetery. A memorial in Ken's name has been established. A special thanks to Dr. Mary McDonald and the staff at Mercy Hospital and Affinity Hospice for their kindness and care given to Ken and our family while he was in the hospital.
