Kenneth C. Helmuth, age 84, of Omro, died Friday, May 07, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Ken was born January 13, 1926, the son of Charles and Charlotte (George) Helmuth. He married the former Dolores Lux at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oshkosh in February of 1947. Ken had worked as a manager at FS Co-Op in Eureka for many years and later became a salesman for the Co-Op until his retirement. Ken loved the outdoors. He enjoyed working on his farm, gardening, hunting, fishing and playing bingo. Ken also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Brewers. Playing cards with his sister, Joan and cousins, Rosemary and Dave was a favorite past time of Ken's. Family was important to Ken and above all else, he loved spending time with them.
Ken is loved and will be missed by his children, Carlene (Wayne) Resop of Eureka, Steve (Janet) Helmuth of Eureka, Carolyn (Richard) Domke of Omro and Cheryl (Tom) Vienola of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Rhonda Johannes, Jodi Bohn, Robert Resop, Ryan Helmuth, Heather Olson, Dawn Henriksen, Charles Domke, Jesse Domke, Tiffany Potratz, Travis Potratz, and Tanya Potratz; great grandchildren, Kristian, Bethany, Morgan, Taylor, Kaylee, Josh, Jacob, Bradly, Allyssa, Hailey, Stephanie, and Baby Resop on May 18; sisters, Elaine (Ivan) Craig of Omro, Joan Krause of Berlin and Veronica (Howard) Blank of Rosholt; brother-in-law, Earl Witzoke of West Allis; other relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Arneda Witzoke and brother-in-law, Burton Krause.
In respect to Ken's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, May 10, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Jason Blahnik and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Ken will be laid to rest at Eureka Cemetery next to his wife, Dolores.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Medical Center and the Dialysis Center for the compassionate care and concern shown Ken and the rest of his family. They would also like to acknowledge his "private nurse" Jodi, for her special connection to her grandpa and the extra loving care she so unselfishly gave him.
