Kenneth "Ken" Raymond Hitchcock, age 77, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, in Ripon, Wisconsin, with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 15, 1947, to parents, Raymond G. and Jannette P. (Kempinger) Hitchcock in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
He graduated from Lourdes High School and went on to technical college. In 1967, he was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Ken worked many years for the Oshkosh Post Office as a mail carrier. On October 10, 1970, he married the love of his life, Sandra "Sandy" Wiley. Together, they raised four children.
Ken enjoyed being active in the American Legion/Honor Guard and in his church choir. He collected coins and he and Sandy traveled to many destinations. Some of their favorites included Hawaii, the Panama Canal, Normandy, Jamaica and a trip to Europe. He will be long remembered for being quietly strong, trustworthy, selfless and honorable.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Hitchcock; children, Paula (Ty) Beulen- their children, Zander and Gunner, Lisa (Les) Hall- their children, Sophie and Joshua, Rebecca Hitchcock and Timothy (Amanda) Hitchcock- their children, Ashlyn and Isabella; siblings, Jerry (Kathy) Hitchcock, Mike (LexAnn) Hitchcock, and Carol (Jim) Connelly.
Ken will be dearly missed by his church family at WE Community Church, friends at the American Legion Post #234 and the United Veterans.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Raymond G. and Jannette P. (Kempinger) Hitchcock; father and mother-in-law, Bill (Berniece) Wiley and uncle, Melvin Hitchcock.
An evening visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home, 425 Jefferson Ave., Omro, WI from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, then the following morning, Saturday, March 22, 2025, at WE Community Church, 2644 State Hwy 116, Waukau, WI, from 9:00am to 10:00am, with service beginning at 10:00am. His final resting place will be at Waukau Cemetery. Interment will be at approximately 11:30am with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park in Neillsville, Wisconsin will be established in his honor.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Moments Hospice, Aurora Medical Center, Dr. Hanes and Dr. Panczyk, Pastor Mike and Associate Pastor Brett and the numerous friends and neighbors that have helped along the way to make Ken's final journey one filled with care and comfort.
