Obituary

Kenneth E. Turnmeyer died on Sunday,
December 27, 2009. He had fought a long
and hard battle with cancer. Ken was
born on July 24, 1943 to Bernard and Marion (LaMore) Turnmeyer. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from
November 1961 to November 1964.


Ken was a life member of AMVETS 7,
Vietnam Veterans of America, Disabled American Veterans, and the United
Veterans Honor Guard. He was a family
man who was thoughtful and giving. He
enjoyed his nieces and nephews. He also
loved being in the outdoors, camping, hiking, and visiting the family
farm. A man of faith, he was a member of
Grace Lutheran Church.


Surviving Ken are his siblings: Gordon
(Elizabeth) Turnmeyer of Phoenix, Arizona, Robert (Maureen) Turnmeyer of Pine
River, Lynn (Darrell) Gehrke of Oshkosh, and Patricia Misterek of Oshkosh;
sister-in-law, Toshiko Turnmeyer of Denver, Colorado; many nieces and nephews;
and his special friend, Diane Mulder.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bernard Jr.


A memorial service will be held for
Ken at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, January 4, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church, 913
Nebraska Street. A time for sharing
memories and support will be held at the church on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until
the time of the service. Full military
honors will be given by the United Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being
