Laura M. Travis age 89 of Oshkosh, died at Evergreen Retirement Community on Thursday, February 3, 2011. She was born on May 23, 1921 to John A. and Bertha A. (Pribbernow) Haynes. On December 21, 1940 she married Clyde A. Travis. They have enjoyed many walks in the woods during their 70 years together.
A wonderful mother, Laura was a great baker. Her children did not eat factory bread until after they moved from home. She enjoyed sewing, reading, fishing, and attending band concerts. When she was younger she would sing at the Odd Fellows club.
Surviving Laura is her husband, Clyde; children: Linda (Charles) Lococo, James A. (Deborah) Travis, and Gary (Fran) Travis; grandchildren: Stephanie, Annette, Julie, Wendy, Aaron, Jennifer, Amanda, Nicholas, and Tiffany; ten great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Vivian A. Haynes. She was preceded in death by her siblings: John Haynes, Frank Haynes, and Jean Labudde.
