Obituary

Lawrence "Huntz" Domke, age 71, of rural Saxeville, formerly of Omro, passed away October 21, 2008, at Aurora Medical Center, in Oshkosh, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Omro on December 4, 1936, the son of Bill and Norma (Morstz) Domke. Huntz honorably served his country in the Air Force from 1958 to 1964. Family and friends will remember Huntz as a hard worker. He was employed for a number of years for the City of Omro in the Public Works Dept. He then worked for and retired from Speed Queen. After his retirement from Speed Queen, he continued to work as a truck driver during the summer months for the Lauritzen Farms. Huntz was a true nature lover. In his younger years he enjoyed deer hunting. It was not uncommon for Huntz to drive around the country side for hours looking to see if he could spot any deer. Above all else, he cherished spending time with family and friends.

Huntz is survived by his children, Connie (Kevin) Krause, Jodi (John) Felcan, Charlie (Tammy) Domke, all of Berlin; his grandchildren, Brooke and Andy Krause, Caitlin and Kara Felcan, Christina and Savannah Domke and Dan, Jr., David and Cassandra Hertzberg; his brothers and sisters, Dixie Lind, Porky (Deloris) Domke, Frank Domke, Mike (Donna) Domke, and Bonnie (Junior) Boehnlein; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Huntz was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Granny Domke, brother, Charles "Heine" Domke, brothers in law, Bill Lind and Ralph Bunke; sister in law, Barbie Domke; nephew, David Domke; and special friend, Gladys.

A private family service will be held. Huntz will be laid to rest in Omro Cemetery. If desired, expressions of sympathy in memory of Huntz may be forwarded to his family at: 425 Jefferson Ave., Omro, WI 54963

The family would like to thank everyone at Aurora Hospital for the exceptional care given to Huntz and the rest of his family during this trying time. A special thank you to Dr. Lee, Chaplain Vickie, Erica, the ICU Unit, particularly Carrie; Amanda, and the entire Nursing Staff on the 2nd floor; and Johanna and the rest of the Aurora VNA Hospice Staff.
