Lawrence L. Kubasta, age 82, of Omro, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 19, 2007. He was born on April 24, 1924 to Louis J. and Ann Endrick Kubasta in Oshkosh. He married Jeanette Beck on May 27, 1950 in Omro. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2006. Lawrence was a doting husband who lovingly cared for and watched after his wife. He cherished his family and often times could be found tutoring the kids and playing catch with them. Lawrence had many talents and passions in life. He loved to invent things and enjoyed fixing or building anything. In fact, there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. His love of music was evident in the way he played his harmonica. Over the years, he enjoyed working in his basement workshop, playing horseshoes, bowling, fishing, gardening, and camping with his wife and family. Lawrence had honorably served his country in the Army Air Force from 1942-1945 and was an active member of the Omro V.F.W.
Lawrence was loved and will be missed by his daughters, Lori Kubasta of Oshkosh, Janet (Gene) Kuhns of Oshkosh, and Kathleen Blake of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Kevin (Marsha), Brandon, Bobby (Ashley), K.C., Cami, Rissa, and Geno Kuhns, all of Oshkosh; great grandchildren, Derek and Kailyn; sister in law and brother in laws, Kathleen (Harold) Hoth of Ripon, and Ward Loker of Omro; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Jeanette and sister, Marion Marin.
Visitation for Lawrence will be held at the Omro Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Timothy Kakuschke officiating. Burial will follow in the Omro Cemetery. A memorial is being established in his name.
