Lawrence B. Schock, age 72, of Oshkosh, died in the early hours of Monday, December 4, 2006 at his residence. He was born on October 22, 1934 in Oshkosh to Gottlieb and Kathryn (Kinzel) Schock. Lawrence met Gloria Running and they were married in Oshkosh on September 24, 1955.
Lawrence was a very active church member and enjoyed working on projects. He liked to play golf and enjoyed gardening. Lawrence was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Lawrence also liked to spend time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria, his son, Reverend Jeffrey (Pamela) Schock of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and his daughter, Melissa (Marc) Kienast of Oshkosh. Six grandchildren also survive him: Michael, Emily, and Angela Schock and Xavier, Elijah, and Gabrielle Kienast. Three sisters and one brother further survive Lawrence: Evelyn (Victor) Raddatz, of Oshkosh, Betty (Jim) Wideman of Fremont, Eleanor Mottl of Brookfield, and Kenneth Schock of Phoenix, Arizona. Lawrence is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clarence, and one cousin, Charles.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2006, at 11:00 A.M. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 1072 Honey Creek Road, Oshkosh. Friends may gather for a time of visitation and support TONIGHT, Wednesday, December 6, 2006 from 4 to 7 P.M. at our Eagle Street location, 300 N. Eagle Street, and again on Thursday morning from 10 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Lawrence's name.
