Lawrence Weidner, age 88, of Omro, passed away Monday morning, July 27, 2009, at his residence. He was born July 19, 1921, the son of Adolph and Rose (Blackburn) Weidner. Lawrence had married the former Thelma Nowak and together they were blessed with six children. He retired from Mercury Marine. For more than 30 years, he owned and operated Weidner's Bait & Tackle Shop. Lawrence enjoyed visiting with old friends, playing cribbage, and fishing. He was also very lucky with his lottery tickets.

Lawrence is survived by his daughters, June (Dean) Larsen of Omro, Karen (James) Stephens of Oshkosh; Sally Weidner of Oshkosh; his son, Ricky (Sue) Weidner of Oshkosh, his brother, Eddie ( Ruth ) Weidner of Oshkosh; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma; daughter, Bonnie Jolin; son, Roger; grandson, Bruce; and brother, Harold.

Private family services were held. A memorial is being established.
