Lee Edwin Rymer, of Omro, passed away on December 1, 2007, at Omro Care Center. Lee was born January 7, 1910 in Oconto Falls, WI the son of the late Sherman and Grace (Simpson) Rymer. On March 17, 1929, he married Dorothy Ragan in Fond du Lac, WI. Together with his wife, they farmed in the town of Rushford for many years. Lee also worked at Speed Queen in Omro until his retirement.
Lee is survived by his five children, Melvin Rymer of Oshkosh, Joyce Barkow of Redgranite, Marlin (Shirley) Rymer of Omro, David (Kathy) Rymer of Omro and Daniel (Dawn) Rymer of Berlin; 18 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; son in law, Donald Kunde; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy of 72 years on September 25, 2002; one daughter, Patricia Kunde; sons in law, Arthur James, Carl Barkow; daughter in law, Violet Rymer; grandson, Greg Rymer; granddaughter, Dianna James; great grandsons, Adam Rilling and Joshua Kunde; several sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.
Lee worked very hard to raise his children, and will be greatly missed by all who loved him, including his favorite "Weasel" Mark, his friends at Omro Care Center, and all who knew him throughout the years.
Visitation will be held at the Omro Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. John Brogaard officiating. Burial will be in the Waukau Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Lee's name at Hospice Hope, 114 N. Pearl St., Berlin, WI 54923.
The family would like to take a moment to thank the staff at Omro Care Center, Oshkosh Family care, the girls who came to the house to help while Lee was at home and his neighbors and very special friends, Diana and James Gibson.
