Obituary

Leona Joslin Severson died peacefully at Centennial Inn, Oshkosh, Monday morning, December 6, 2010. She was born on September 11, 1906, in the Poygan area, north of Omro, Wisconsin, the second child of the late Earnest and Susie (Tritt) Stiller. Leona met Harley E. Joslin at a barn dance in 1926 and they were married on May 4, 1927. They resided in Redgranite until the spring of 1942 before moving to Oshkosh. This was a happy marriage that lasted for 44 years until Harley's death in October of 1971.
Spending her summers in Wisconsin and her winters in California living near a sister at Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Leona met and later married Guy Severson in 1979. This too, was a happy marriage lasting for 13 years until Guy's death in 1992 after which Leona moved back to Oshkosh.
Always happy and energetic, her greatest joys in life were being a housewife, mother, and grandmother. With time and loving arms, Leona reached out to comfort and teach her loved ones and others in times of need. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and looked forward to Pastor Pagel's visits.
Surviving Leona are two sons, Harley and Glen Joslin; two stepchildren, Alan (Kathy) Severson and Janice Hayden; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild; four sisters, Viola Marshall, Annie Behm, Susie Taylor, and Eva (Clarence) Bytof. Preceding Leona in death are her parents; husbands, Harley and Guy; sisters, Jessie Johnson and Alice Michaels; a brother, Robert Stiller; daughters-in-law, Mary Ann and Ruth Joslin; a stepdaughter, Gloria Larson; and a great-great-grandson, Brandon Olson.
