Obituary

Leonard A. Krause, age 62 of Omro, died unexpectedly Saturday morning November 20, 2004, doing what he loved the most, deer hunting with his brothers and friends. He was born January 20, 1942 in Berlin, WI the son of Harold and Margaret Krause. Leonard served in the U.S. Army from 1963 -1965. He married Judy Kling May 18, 1968 at the Green Lake County Court House. Leonard was a long time employee of Leach Co. working there 37 years and was a member of U.A.W. Local # 1108. He enjoyed NASCAR, motorcycle racing, restoring his 1956 Ford Truck, attending car shows, swap meets, bear and deer hunting, ice fishing, sturgeon spearing on Lake Poygan, was a founding member of the Aurora Snow Blazers and always participated in the Auroraville Fishery trying to sell you that winning ticket, as well as preparing the pig for the land owners annual pig roast sponsored by the Snow Blazers. Leonard also enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, going on nature walks, making sure to take a big stick to hit all the snakes, and doing those special science projects that only he could do. He loved to socialize with friends and family as they would often stop by for a visit.
He is survived and will be missed by his wife Judy of Omro; son, Jamey (Karen) Krause of Omro; daughter Cassandra (Wayne "Buff" ) Knight of Omro; grandchildren Melanie & Jessica Krause and Margaret, Emma & Wyatt Knight, sisters: Betty (Fred) Southworth of Oak Creek, WI., & Glenda (Arden) Schalk of Green Bay, brothers: Gordon of Oregon, Marlin of Berlin, Norman (Sandy) of Oshkosh, Allen (Sharon) of Berlin and Vernon (Kathy) of Berlin, Sister in law Diane Krause of Berlin. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews his good friend, Pete Kallas and the rest of the "conniving outlaws," many many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; Leland and infant Lynn.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 29, 2004 at the funeral home in Omro from 4-8 p.m. and then again on Tuesday, November 30, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. with Rev. John Brogaard officiating. Burial will follow in the Omro Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
