Leone C. "Onie" Bock, 102, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in the Town of Nekimi on February 14, 1903 to Rheinhold and Bertha (Scheller) Barthels. Her wedding ceremony with Ralph H. Bock was held in Pickett on October 28, 1924. He passed away on May 28, 1965.
She is survived by nephews, nieces and many friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters Esther Postl, Irene Anklam and Stella Carley and brothers, Irving, Arthur and Herman Barthels.
Onie had been a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Pickett, active in the Ladies Aide. Although she never had children of her own she was always surrounded by the families of her siblings. She loved to sew, fish and cook. She and her husband ran a farm for many years. She had a passion for farming and you could often find her driving a tractor.
Services for Leone will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4th, at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, the Rev. Russell Kloehn officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held at the chapel beginning at 5 p.m. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Pickett are appreciated.
