LeRoy G. Hobart, 71, passed away unexpectedly at Aurora Medical Center on Thursday, January 24, 2013. He was born April 22, 1941, in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, the son of John and Enid (Van Tassel) Hobart. He married the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Nadine Wolverton on February 20, 1960. He was a longtime employee of the Universal Foundry, he later in life became a cabinet maker for Nekimi Cabinetry until his retirement, which he never took part in.
He loved life: gardening, walking the dogs, carpentry, and his family most of all. There is nothing he wouldn't do for them. He loved every family gathering and cherished every opportunity to be with family.
Survived by his wife, Nadine and four children, Jeffrey (Bonnie) Hobart of Winneconne; Stephen (Jori) Hobart of Oshkosh; Cindy (James) Mathe of Oshkosh; Shirley (Daniel) Peppler of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Daniel) Neisen, Ivy (Joshua) Heuer, Alexander Hobart, John Hobart, Bryana Hobart; Kevin Peppler, Bryan Peppler; step grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Tyler, Kristina, Sarah and Jill;
great grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Izabella and Cora; two brothers, Walter (Mary Jane) Hobart, William Hobart, brothers-in-law, Roger Wolverton, Walter Miller; sister-in-law, Dee Schroeder; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alberta Miller and his brother, Jack Hobart.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, from 12:00 Noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ralph DiBiasio-Snyder officiating. A memorial is being established in LeRoy's name.
