Leroy F. Meyer, age 85 of Oshkosh died peacefully at Bethel Home on Sunday, January 08, 2006. He was born June 26, 1920 in Alaska, WI, the son of John and Emma Meyer and graduated from High School in the town of Algoma in 1937. Lee was preceded in death by his devoted wife Lita (Weber) nee Heffner, whom he married in 1982. Lee enjoyed a large and extended family, including 5 children, the late Mary Sotar, Janet Werner, James Meyer, Gregory Meyer & LeeJohn Meyer; 5 stepchildren, Susan Broege, Sandra Vaughan, William Weber, Thomas Weber & Sharon von Thun. Lee was also one of 12 children; preceding him in death are Raymond Meyer, Harold Meyer, Maynard "Mike" Meyer, John Meyer, Myrtle Stichman, Ruth Meyer, Mabel Wolff & Edna Wenz. Surviving are Violet Drenski, Ethel Wierichs & Emeline Bruss, as well as one sister in law, Beulah Meyer. Lee also enjoyed numerous in laws, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lee spent much of his adult career as a carpet and floor layer, and in his later life as a restaurateur with cafes in Berlin, Redgranite, then Green Bay. He spent the last 3 years at Simeanna Apartments where he was vice-president of the tenant board and their number one bingo caller. As an active member of his church, he enjoyed teaching as well as researching genealogy. Lee was a gentle man who always had a winning smile and a light in his eyes. He will be missed by all of his friends and family.

Visitation will be at the Omro Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
